DO NOT DELETE DATA
Taylor
I discovered, unwittingly, that when a user unenrolls or is booted from a program by the system "all his data in the course, including course progress, will be removed, including quiz inputs." This data is non-recoverable.
Not only is this terrible best practice for data management and an absolute nightmare for situations where this was done inadvertently, but it also exposes creators to massive legal risk. This issue needs to be addressed immediately.
Can you imagine if someone sues a creator for non-delivery of services and I have absolutely zero proof that the program was being delivered to them and they were engaging with it?
Following are some recommendations.
1) Data should NEVER be deleted without express authorization from the data owner, which includes the site admins.
2) Any unenrollment should be reversible. Progress in a program can be reset or reinstated.
3) Answers to quizzes and surveys should remain accessible.

I fully agree.
This was a big issue for the update of my course. Of course I needed to send emails to students and former students separately, but there is no way to split them up.
I had to go through several hundred accounts and change former students to Leads instead (the only somewhat viable option).
This now created another issue - that they their purchases/former memberships don't show up in the account anymore.... Exactly how you described it. Oy oy oy.... 🙈

Also the same for if you remove a course or price plan all that data is removed, it isnt stored in a basic view format. We recently had this issue with a coupon that had been abused and we couldnt prove it because the course it was used on has been removed.

I agree also. From the legal risk standpoint, this is a must fix asap item.

I fully agree -- at minimum the data should not be deleted unless the user has asked for it. For example, I run a lifetime access mentorship, and when someone unenrolled or unsubscribed, I could not find her anywhere in the Zenler system, though technically she had paid for lifetime access.

Ditto for this one, we run a nationally recognised qualification using Zenler and if a student misses a payment, gets automatically unenrolled and we loose their assignments this would be a disaster from a quality assurance view point.
I've only had it happen with someone who hasn't started the course yet, so I hadn't considered what would happen if they were unenrolled because of a missed instalment.
Is there a way we can access a back up?
