Automatically remove community access when membership/courses expire or are canceled
Demis
I’d like to request a feature improvement regarding community access management.
Currently, when a student buys a course or a membership, they are automatically added to the community — which works perfectly.
However, when the student cancels the membership or when their access expires, they still remain inside the community area. This means they continue to see exclusive content, links, and resources that are meant only for active paying members.
At the moment, the only way to remove them is manually banning them from the community, which is not scalable for memberships with recurring enrollments/cancellations.
🔧 Feature requested:
Please add an option that automatically removes students from the community when:
a membership is canceled,
a subscription payment fails, or
course access expires.
✅ Ideal workflow:
Student purchases → automatically added to the community (already working correctly)
Student cancels or access expires → automatically removed from the community
This is essential for membership management, access control, and maintaining exclusivity of community resources.

This is absolutely essential! It boggles the mind that we don't have it already. I would also love to be able to set a specific date that a community closes automatically, so people can still have access to their course that the community came with but not the community anymore. We also need to be able to archive communities, keep the posts but make it inactive, a toggle switch or something.
