Assignments are a core element for us and our courses. Currently, the feedback box on an assignment is in the region of 150 characters, but this does not allow for the type of in-depth feedback that many students need in order to resubmit before achieving a pass.

Our assessor has been using the feedback box to give the score and the comments box to give detailed feedback. However, this is beginning to look messy with a mix of student comments and assessor feedback. This begins to feel a bit overwhelming for our neurodiverse students.

Could the assignment feedback box be increased so that the assessor feedback can be complete and kept separate from comments? Allowing for up to 300 words would be helpful. Or allowing the assessor to upload a document containing detailed feedback would be another alternative option?

I've edited this to add that when detailed feedback is added to the email notification, it does NOT show up in the email received by the student. Instead, there is a click box, which redirects the student back to the comments. Leaving no way of giving feedback to a student longer than 150 characters (30-40 words).
